AZSITE Support Options

  • AZSITE Training AZSITE personnel can come to your office to ensure computers are configure properly to get the most out of AZSITE. Training may include installing, populating and submitting datasets generated by the AZSITE Standalone Module, conducting record searches through the AZSITE web pages and for Land Managers how to download information and manage resources within your office. Training cost is $125 per day plus travel and lodging. Contact the AZSITE Data Administrator for more specific informaiton or to arrange training dates.
  • New Record Entry System
    The AZSITE Data Entry Module is a freely disseminated software developed by the AZSITE Consortium to be used for the electronic submission of standardized datasets of cultural resources and inventories. Updates to the original Entry System are now available. From the downloads section of the AZSITE web page, copy both the Entry and the Template2k. Instructions or listed in the downloads page.

  • Data Submission
    All new incoming cultural resource and inventory information should be submitted electronically using the Data Entry Module listed above. At the submissions page fill in the form, submit it, confirm the submission is correct and then "drag and drop" the folder containing the data you wish to submit from your computer to the ftp site. You will have to resize the screens on your computer monitor so you can see both directory on your computer where the folder you are submitting is located AND the open ftp site that you are submitting the data to.

  • Web Searches
    The quickest and simplest way to access AZSITE is through the webpage search applications. The only requirements are an internect connection and a web browser from either Microsoft (5.0 or higher) or Netscape (4.0 or higher). Be sure that the ftp "drag and drop" function has been enabled.

  • Attribute Searches for resources and inventories
    If you know the agency assigned number this search engine, developed and maintained by ASU CES, will present a printable format of resource and inventory attribute information
  • Spatial Searches by user defined geographical boundaries or attribute criteria
    This search engine, developed and maintained by the ASU GIS department, allows the user to define geographical boundaries and return a list of resources and/or inventories within that area.

  • ODBC Connections
    Open Database Connectivity is a universal communication protocol that allows desktop applications to query remote databases such as AZSITE.  ODBC will only provide access to the attribute information on the cultural resources and inventories. The AZSITE Consortium has developed and made available to consortium member the Client Maintenance Application that uses the ODBC connection to update resource and inventory records. Connections isomg ODBC require special computer configurations and is generally AVAILABLE TO CONSORTIUM MEMBERS ONLY

  • Specialized Data Requests Specialized datasets can be created upon request. These datasets can be anything from simple shape files of a specific area to a complete Access set of tables. A current AZSITE User's Agreement must be implace prior to the creation and dissemination of any electronic datasets. Contact the AZSITE Data Administrator for more information
